Colorless transparent liquid, white smoke in the air, Strong irritating odor , highly toxic, and has a strong corrosive, boiling point is 19.5℃.
Application
For the production of element fluorine, fluoride, or used as catalyst, fluoridation agent. Also used for stainless steel, non-ferrous metal pickling, glassware frosted and pickling, treatment of frosted light bulbs and so on.
Hydrofluoric acid is a solution of hydrogen fluoride in water. It is used to make most fluorine-containing compounds; examples include the commonly used pharmaceutical antidepressant medication fluoxetine and the material PTFE. Elemental fluorine is produced from it. Solutions of HF are colourless, acidic and highly corrosive. It is commonly used to etch glass and silicon wafers.

Application:
It is widely used in atomic energy industry, chemical industry and petroleum industry. As a strong oxidant, it is the basic raw material for the preparation of elemental fluorine, fluorine refrigerant and inorganic fluoride, and it can be prepared into hydrofluoric acid. It can also be used as a catalyst for graphite manufacturing and organic compounds and it can be used as a glass etching agent.
